Another former coworker who changed jobs (for another trade show company) said they cut everyone's pay, which is better than cutting your job. One person who had been laid off and who had found another job with a similar trade show company said it was business as usual but they were supposedly practicing social distancing. My daughter works in an elementary school and the school has been closed. But my wife's social clubs (book club, etc.) have cancelled meetings. One person from the Serbian side of the family did say that she had had contact with several Egyptians recently but we still shook hands and didn't do the double kissing thing. Everyone there was already conscious of the virus. I haven't done much socializing in groups since I retired, although I did mention going to a big birthday party two weeks ago for my wife's (only) aunt, who is 95. But like Nat, both my wife and I are retired. Speaking only for myself, nothing special. What are you all doing to stay safe and sane?

As the pandemic spread developed across the world in the spring semester of my junior year, I created Quaranchella, a parody festival with a lineup based on the common quarantine experience. The kids have been out of school for a bit now and we have attempted to continue their education at home, but it's also spring break and kind of a crappy situation. How is everyone else handling the current crisis?Īs for us, we are under semi-mandatory and voluntary quarantine. The people I see on Zoom, Facetime and speak to on text and on the phone change from day to day.
